Paul Balthazor Crossroads Board of Directors

Crossroads Treatment Centers is always striving to enhance the quality of care we provide to individuals suffering from substance use disorders (SUD). We are proud to announce the addition of Paul Balthazor to our Board of Directors.

With over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including working with historically underserved patient populations, Balthazor is a tremendous asset to Crossroads.

His appointment marks an exciting moment for Crossroads as we continue to deliver accessible and effective opioid addiction treatment to individuals across nine states. With his vast knowledge and experience, particularly with Medicare and Medicaid, Paul Balthazor will help us enhance our value-based care model and ensure more individuals have access to the care they need when they need it most.

What Makes Paul Balthazor an Ideal Fit for Crossroads?

Paul Balthazor brings more than just valuable experience to Crossroads—he also shares our commitment to improving the lives of individuals facing substance use disorders (SUD).

Balthazor has extensive experience working in the healthcare industry across a variety of roles. This makes him a perfect fit for our mission.

Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer at a patient-centered care organization that specializes in fully accountable, value-based care. In this role, Balthazor was responsible for overseeing operations in communities nationwide, working directly with underserved populations.

His deep experience in working with payor organizations, including Medicare and Medicaid, has equipped him with a unique understanding of the challenges faced by patients who rely on public assistance for treatment.

Balthazor’s expertise extends beyond healthcare operations. Prior to his role in patient care, he worked for Arthur Andersen, where he provided merger and acquisition advisory services to clients across multiple industries. This experience gave him a broad perspective on business management and strategy, skills that are invaluable as we continue to strengthen Crossroads’ impact in the SUD space.

In addition to his professional experience, Balthazor is a graduate of St. John’s University in Minnesota, where he earned degrees in accounting and management. His strong academic foundation, combined with his practical experience, positions him to make a meaningful impact as part of Crossroads’ leadership team.

Crossroads’ Vision for the Future of Opioid Addiction Treatment

Crossroads has long been a leader in providing outpatient treatment for opioid addiction. Our evidence-based treatment programs, which include medication-based recovery support, are designed to help individuals overcome their dependence on opioids, regain control over their lives and reintegrate into their families and communities.

Crossroads focuses on treating the whole person, not just the addiction. Our treatment plans are personalized to meet the unique needs of each individual. Furthermore, our dedicated staff of doctors, nurse practitioners, and counselors work tirelessly to support our patients at every stage of their recovery journey.

As we look to the future, Crossroads aims to expand our services to reach even more individuals struggling with opioid addiction. The addition of Paul Balthazor to our board is a key part of this vision. His expertise in public health, payor relations and value-based care will be important in helping Crossroads increase access to treatment and maintain sustainability for the long term.

The Importance of Crossroads’ Leadership

One of the driving forces behind Crossroads is our leadership team. Dr. Rupert McCormac, our Founder and CEO, is deeply invested in the development of our organization and the success of each individual who walks through our doors.

Dr. McCormac said, “We are honored to welcome Paul Balthazor to our Board of Directors,” said Rupert McCormac, IV, MD, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Crossroads. “Paul’s experience working with payors, including Medicare and Medicaid, will make him an invaluable addition to Crossroads’ Board of Directors, particularly as we continue to advance our value-based care model.”

Paul Balthazor’s leadership will help Crossroads build on its strong foundation and continue to expand our outreach to communities in need. Working alongside Dr. McCormac and our board members, Balthazor will help shape the future of opioid addiction treatment and ensure that our programs remain sustainable, efficient and accessible to all who need them.

Crossroads’ Ongoing Commitment to Addiction Treatment Services

Since its founding in 2005, Crossroads has been committed to providing comprehensive care to those battling substance use disorders like opioid and alcohol addiction. Our outpatient treatment programs allow individuals to continue with their daily lives while receiving the support they need to recover. Flexibility makes it easier for patients to stay engaged in treatment and achieve lasting recovery.

Our medication-based recovery support programs are a key component of our success. By combining behavioral health therapies with medications like Methadone, Suboxone (Buprenorphine) and SUBLOCADE®, we help individuals reduce cravings, manage withdrawal symptoms and rebuild their lives. We know that recovery is a long-term process, and we are here to provide the tools and support necessary for lasting success.

Strengthening Communities Through Treatment and Support

The work that Crossroads does extends far beyond individual recovery. Providing outpatient care in communities across nine states, Crossroads helps strengthen families and communities. Not only do we offer services in addiction treatment but also a path to stability, improved mental health and a better quality of life.

We also work with local agencies, governments and service organizations to ease the strain that substance use places on public resources. When people recover, they can return to work and their families and make positive contributions to society.

The Role of CARF Accreditation in Crossroads’ Mission

At Crossroads, we are committed to excellence in all aspects of our care. One of the ways we ensure that our treatment programs meet the highest standards is through our CARF accreditation. The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) sets rigorous standards for treatment programs. Crossroads meets—and often exceeds—these standards across all our programs.

CARF accreditation reflects our focus on continuous improvement and shows that our services are rooted in best practices. Patients receiving care at a CARF-accredited facility know they are getting consistent, evidence-based support from trained professionals.

Expanding Access to Opioid Addiction Treatment

As Crossroads continues to grow, our efforts to expand access to treatment for substance use disorders (SUD) remains our top priority. Paul Balthazor’s expertise in healthcare systems and policy will be important as we work to make our services available to more individuals

Crossroads will continue to advocate for policies that reduce the barriers to care. This ensures that all individuals have access to the treatment they need, when they need it.

Moving Forward with Strong Leadership

The addition of Paul Balthazor to the Crossroads Board of Directors is a powerful step forward in our efforts to improve the opioid addiction treatment landscape.

Balthazor’s expertise, combined with Crossroads’ commitment to providing outpatient treatment and personalized care, will help us continue to make a lasting impact on the lives of individuals, families and communities affected by opioid addiction.

If you or someone you know is struggling with a substance use disorder, Crossroads is here to help. Our outpatient programs offer personalized treatment, and our compassionate staff is dedicated to supporting your recovery every step of the way.
